Running of the Reindeer
Have you heard what they are planning to do at the Fur Rondy? The Running of the Reindeer. This is kind of like the running of the bulls and you can easily guess what two KWHL early morning DJs are responsible for getting this idea in people’s heads. (Yes, Bob and Mark)
It sounds to me like insanity and a good way to get the animal rights folks ticked off at Alaska again.
There will be two different runs, one for men and one for women with the money all going to benefit Toys for Tots. At least PETA can’t growl about where the money is going — well, I guess they *could* demand it go to buy ice for the polar bears, huh?
The run will be down 4th Ave in downtown Anchorage at 3:30pm on Sunday, February 24th. I’m betting the local news will have coverage, be sure you stay tuned after the news to see if we make anyone’s late night monologue with this one.
